Moving & Handling People - Online Course

Our Moving and Handling People course is an introductory course to manual handling and moving & handling people. It is designed to keep you and your colleagues safe when moving items or people in your workplace. In some workplaces such as hospitals and nursing homes there are often people who have reduced mobility and who may require assistance to move.  Injuries associated with incorrect manual handling can be severe so it is essential to understand the very important to understand the principles of safe moving and handling and be trained in appropriate manual handling techniques.

Typically in one year almost 40% of injuries lasting more than 3 days are caused by poor manual handling.

This course covers manual handling regulations on the basics of lifting and lowering loads, as well as pushing and pulling trolleys and other mechanical aids and equipment. It also includes guidance for moving people using equipment such as assisted stands, slides and hoists and anyone using this type of equipment should also attend a practical course in the safe use of this type of equipment.
