The aim of the CPR and Safe Use of an AED Course is to enable participants to attain the knowledge and competencies needed to deal with Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and Automated External Defibrillation (AED). The course comprehensively covers the safe use of an Artificial External Defibrillator (AED) by use of theory and lots of practical sessions. Following the course participants will be able to demonstrate the practical administration of safe, prompt, effective CPR and use of an AED in emergency situations.
Who is this course for?
This course is designed for people who have a specific responsibility at work, or in voluntary and community activities, to provide First Aid when dealing with an emergency situation. Participants should ideally hold a current Emergency First Aid at Work or First Aid at Work certificate.
Basic life support requirements
Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
AED safety considerations
Use of the Artificial External Defibrillator
AED user maintenance and troubleshooting
Handover and reporting
Duration: 3 Hours
Certification: Successful participants will receive a CPR & AED Course certificate, valid for one year, after which the learner will need to retake the course in order to remain qualified.
Additional information: The CPR and Safe Use of an AED Course price includes tuition, all course materials, CPR & AED handbook for each participant and certification. This course is subject to continuous assessment of participants throughout the day by the tutor. There is no final assessment. Delegates attending this course must bring a valid form of photographic I.D.
